Introduction to a variety of basic cooking skills and food preparation. Through instruction and kitchen lab practice, this class will learn how to cook and demonstrate food lab safety procedures. Some topics introduced include: quick breads, yeast breads, eggs, meal planning, nutrition and food borne illnesses.

- Analyze nutritional guidelines to help improve the decision making in the student’s overall diet.
